Welcome
Zac and
Harry from Wedderburn and
Jaron and
Gabe from Andale. This is your page to share and work in.
You will also have your own individual page where you can post your environmental footprint and other ideas as we go along.
| Final Reflection (December) - Thinking back over the past semester, what impact has this project on Global Warming had on you? What have you learned about yourself, your environment, your world? |

| Jaron: |
The impact it has put on me is that global warming is a bad thing and needs to be dealt with. I have learned that I can cause a problem, and that it affects the environment in many ways. Most of all we need the world. |
| Gabe: |
I now know that global warming really is a problem and we need to stop it before it is too late. I have learned that there is alot of pollution. I've also learned that Australia has a major drought and can't use much water. I have learned that the United States is one of the most pollutant countries in the world.
|
| November 5th Reflections - What are some of the facts on your environmental issue that are surprising you? What can we do to let the world know how to solve this problem? |
| Zac |
well i reckon that air pollution is more deadly than it sounds because it has killed millions. before i studied air pollution that it can indeed kill. |
| Harry |
Well I didn't realise how bad it actually was or that it killed people, and how bad some chinese cities are. We could start an advertisment campaign showing the effects and how air pollution is caused and what contributes towards it. |
| Jaron |
We now know that air pollution is a really big thing and some big sacrifices have to be made like shutting down factories that realese pollutant air. We can start making our own sacrifices and get other people to follow. |
| Gabe |
I was surprised that millions of people die each year of air pollution. We can stop making cars that pollute the air.

| What environmental issue should your group research? |
Burning of fossil fuels |
Air Pollution |
| Why do you think your research might help your communities? |
A lot of people are talking about global warming at the moment, and the reason is because everybody knows that we can help prevent it, some people don’t admit it but they still know. The way we can help is by using clean energy or even just walking instead of driving or just turning off a light switch. Yes that’s right! Fossil fuels are a massive contributor to global warming. Each time a fossil fuel is burnt it releases Co2 which ruins the atmosphere. That is why some people (eg: factory owners) pretend not to know about it. And of course they know because any sensible person would realise the damage that fossil fuels are doing, but it takes a real person to take action and do something about it.
So do the right thing by the planet and switch off a light.

Pollution is the contamination of air, soil, and water by the discharge of harmful substances. Some of our local causes of air pollution is an ethenyol plant which makes alternative gas fuel made from corn, but it sends out hazardous smoke in the air to create the fuel.
Hi Jaron and Gabe
It seems that this local ethenyol plant causes a lot of air pollution in your area. I wonder if Zac and Harry would be prepared to broaden their focus and look at both of these issues under the broader topic of air pollution? I will have a chat with them to see ...Mrs Baird

From Mrs. Smoke - Zac and Harry - Thank you for posting your responses today. Question for you: On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how interested would you be in researching air pollution? 4

Question for you: On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how interested would you be in researching the burning fossil fuels? We give yours a 4 because our issues are not far apart. The burning of fossil fuels cause air pollution. We could maybe agree on the same issue to research both. |
| Week 1 Reflections - What are two things that surprised you this week and one thing you are looking forward to learning from your partners? |
| Zac |
that polar bears can drown if they dont find land quick enuff |
| Harry |
i was surprised with how much effort that guy done on global warming and how many things are going to die. |
