Welcome Jade and Jayden Wedderburn and Daniel, Cole, and Ryan from Andale. This is your page to share and work in.

You will also have your own individual page where you can post your environmental footprint and other ideas as we go along.

Final Reflections (December) - Thinking back over the past semester, what impact has this project on Global Warming had on you? What have you learned about yourself, your environment, your world?
 Jade
Jayden

Daniel

I've learned that global warming has affected the poles by melting the ice caps. I realize that I learned more about this. I want my winters to be cold and summers to be hot, not warm and record breaking temperatures. The world will be flooded if we don't do something about this. I recycle and ride my bike more.
Cole The impact on me has been that I've been recycling more and I've been riding my bike more.  I know we have to do something about it. The envirorment is being polluted, and global warming can become very bad if we keep it how it is.
Ryan-  This is how it has impacted me, I'm riding my bike or walking to my friends house to play with them instead of having my parents take me.

November 5th Reflections - What are some of the facts on your environmental issue that are surprising you?  What can we do to let the world know how to solve this problem?
 Jade
Jayden I think that the rise in co2 levels from air polution is amazing but i am amazed more at how long Australia has been having droughts. I am deeply concerned about the amont of water that people in America and other places use and that it isn't  uncommon for you to have a twenty minute shower. I am suprised that the longest drought in Australia lasted 11yrs and I think that it won't be long  until it is about twenty yrs with all the climate change from the green house gases and the rise in co2 levels.

Daniel

I have been suprised that certain buisnesses are making our planet what it is today, harmful emissions mean more CO2, and more CO2 means more heat, making the ice caps melt. We can do something about it by using fuel efficent cars and not using fires in your fireplace. You can also think of more ways to stop it by learning about it
Cole  I have been suprised that so many people die from air pullution and the health problems some people have do to air pullution and global warming and I think it is very sad and I feel very sorry for all the people who pollute the air or the people who dont recyle and things that start global warming.  I think we can stop the problem by using  less big machines that lett smoke in the air and to stop make the big plants that pollute the air with the smoke that comes out of it. I think I can help by recycleing things like paper, cans, and other things.
Ryan  Air Pollution is a big cause in the U.S.A. because we die if the air is really bad here. The way we can stop air pollution is stop using the company that lets bad air into the sky.

Question to group members in both schools

Wedderburn Response

Andale Response

What environmental issue should your group research?   drought Air Pollution
Why do you think your research might help your communities?
A drought is a dry period when there is not enough water. During droughts those on land suffer really badly, but agriculture suffers first and most severely. The drought reduces breeding stock. With the drought, toxic algae outbreaks growing on water supplies may occur, animals and plants are threatened and dust storms and bushfires often increase. My conclusion is that we need to address the issue of the drought and we need to act now or there will be no more water.

Most sensible and intelligent people in Australia believe the drought has and is still going too have very serious effects on Australia.
Most farmers are going bankrupt as they can not afford to feed there stock because of they enormous rise in the price and demand of feed because of water shortage.
The worst part of the drought is the water shortage. Most people in Australia can not have a shower that is longer than 3 minutes or water there gardens.
Sport is an important part of life and most children and older people can not play sport because they don’t have any water too water there grounds.

We think the air should be cleaner than what it is right now. When we go by power plant and see all of the smoke coming out of it we think it affects our air.

Hi Daniel Cole and Ryan

I am interested in the power plant that you have. It sounds like it must have a big effect on the air quality of your town. I wonder if you could take a photo of it to show us here in Wedderburn. The power plants that we get our electricity from are many hundreds of kilometres from us so it doesn't directly affect our air quality. We are looking forward to getting your rating... Mrs Baird

why did you do air pollution  WE WERE MENT TO DO DROUGHT BUT WELL DONE WITH WAT U HAVE COMPLETED IT IS WELL RESEARCHED

Question to you: On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how much would you agree to research air pollution?

I would give it a 1 because in australia at the moment we are going through an exstremly hard to manage drought. A lot of the farming community is losing money because thay are going bankrupt because the avrage farmer borrow $200,000 on crops and ther crops are dieing and making them owe houndreds of thousands to millions of dollars. jayden young

Daniel, Cole, and Ryan Question to you: On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how much would you agree to research drought?

We would give it a 2.5 because we would have given it a one but you guys kinda opened our eyes, we're sorry. We haven't had a drought for four years. We realize now what you are going through. We would like to make a difference, but we would like to stick with our subject.

Week 1 Reflections - What are two things that surprised you this week and one thing you are looking forward to learning from your partners?
Jade
Jayden  that if the ice caps melt how meany countrys/ people are going to die and that america causes 33% of the green house gases. and i look forward to meeting my partners.
Daniel  It surprised me that if ice melts, it will flood the world.  Also, it surprised me that species will die if this continues to happen.  I think we can recycle recycliable things.  I also think we can use energy efficient light bulbs.
Cole
Ryan  That polar bears are dying because of the CO2 risings.  We should save the animals homes.
