Welcome Leona and Alana from Wedderburn and Tommy and Evan from Andale. This is your page to share and work in.
You will also have your own individual page where you can post your environmental footprint and other ideas as we go along.
| Final Reflections (December) - Thinking back over the past semester, what impact has this project on Global Warming had on you? What have you learned about yourself, your environment, your world? |

The project has changed my perspective on everything I do or use. When I am about to do something I say hey, if I do this what effect will it have on the enviornment. I have learned about myself that in the past I did waste a lot but now that I have the knowledge about the enviornment that I have, I have tried to cut down on what I do and how much I do things that harm the enviornment. I have also learned that in the U.S. we have a much better situation environmentally then a lot of countries in the world. This project has changed my lifestyle and I hope it stays that way. |

This project has changed my perspective on things that I do every day and that all the stuff that I do can have an effect on the environment. It has also showed me that picking up trash, not wasting food, and doing other small things can help keep my country clean. |
| November 5th Reflections - What are some of the facts on your environmental issue that are surprising you? What can we do to let the world know how to solve this problem? |
| Leona |
A fact that surprised me was that 2 million people die annually from air pollution. I think this a problem that we need to fix because these people are dying unnecessarily. It is really frightening to know this fact. |

After using the showing evidence tool and learning about our environmental issue of air pollution. Most of the facts suprised me especially how 2 million people die a year from air pollution this fact was frightening!! People around the world need to stop polluting the environment with toxic gases. There also needs to be more public awareness about this global issue. |
| Tommy |
Some of the facts that surprised me was that 2 million people die a year from air pollution and that living in a polluted city is worse for your lungs than smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. We can make commercials like on the smoking commercials where they bring so many people and say that this many people die a day or week. There needs to be more public awareness about this subject. My conclusion on all of this is that Air Pollution it is a major problem and not many people don't know how bad it is. |

Some of the facts that surprised me are that 2 million people die a year from air pollution and that smoking a pack of cigarettes is better than living in a polluted city. I think that we could solve this by making comercials about how many people die from air pollution a year, or by doing radio brodcasts. I also think that another way to solve this problem is by getting the newspaper to write an article about air pollution. |

| What environmental issue should your group research? |
Pollution |
Air Pollution |
| Why do you think your research might help your communities? |
Pollution affects us all, whether we realise it or not, and any good person would agree that it is a global issue well worth addressing. Prior to the start of the Industrial Revolution, levels of carbon dioxide were about 280 parts per million by volume (ppmv), and current levels are about 370 ppmv. Now, scientists predict that by the end of the 21st century, we could expect to see Co2 levels of anywhere from 490 to 1260 ppmv, which is 75-350% above the pre-industrial concentration. Isn’t this frightening? As Co2 levels rise, the Earth’s atmosphere becomes thicker and our planet becomes warmer. This means disaster and terrible consequences in the long term. I passionately believe that pollution is the major cause of this rise in Co2 levels, as well as global warming. Because of this, we must take action to prevent any further destruction of our planet Earth. You as a sensible person could take small actions to prevent the devastation of our planet. These include walking or taking public transport instead of driving your car and switching to cleaner forms of electricity, such as solar and hydroelectric. In conclusion, I urge you to think carefully about your lifestyle and make the necessary changes. Our planet’s future is counting on you. |
Air Pollution is a major problem in the US. Most other people don't know how bad it really is. There are 10 major air pollutants that affect us every day in our communities. Our community is constructing an ethanol (a type of gas) plant that releases a whole slew of pollutants every day. The plant is another problem for air pollutiion because to take ethanol to the gas manufactuer they need to bring trains that burn gas or electricity that comes from gas. The constant column of smog rising from the plant brings an eerie smell to our community. air pollution is worsening global warming which increases the whole in the ozone. So if we put a handle on the rising air pollutants that will help the hole in the ozone and the temperature around the world. |

The Showing Evidence is ready -- Mrs. Smoke |
Is there enough evidence in the showing evidence table?
Do we have enough evidence in the claim to support our claim of Air Pollution?
Is there anything we need to add or delete?

| Week 1 Reflections - What are two things that surprised you this week and one thing you are looking forward to learning from your partners? |
| x.::.~*Leona*~.::.x |
After watching 'An Inconvenient Truth' I was surprised at how bad the problem actually is. I never realised it was that disastrous, especially the part about the melting polar ice caps. It was a very confronting film. The statistics shocked me. It made me want to take action.
I am looking forward to learning about my American group members. I want to know how they look and what their personalities are like.

After watching 'An Inconvenient Truth' I was surprised at, the pictures of the mountains, rivers and lakes in 1970 to what they look like now. Also i didn't realise how rapidly we are destroying the Earth with pollution . I am looking forward to learning about how your schooling is different to that in Australia. |
| Tommy |
How far the United States is behind on Green Issues. How much pollution we release and how much it was soared over the past few years. I think we can try to get teams of people to go around town and pick up trash. I also think we should have a recycling service. |
| Evan |
Greenland is melting and that CO2 levels are making the atmosphere thicker. We need to plant more and ride our bikes and walk. We also need to save the polar bears and stop habitat loss. |
