Welcome Kevin and Gavin from Wedderburn and Morgan, Katlyn, and Abby from Andale. This is your page to share and work in.

You will also have your own individual page where you can post your environmental footprint and other ideas as we go along.

Final Reflection (December) - Thinking back over the past semester, what impact has this project on Global Warming had on you?  What have your learned about yourself, your environment, your world?
 Kevin
Gavin
Morgan

A big impact that global warming has had on me is that we need to stop this so we can have a better, brighter world and community because I love our world and we need to change this now. What I have learned about myself is that I am one of the major causes of global warming because of showers being too long or water is running too long when not needed, but my family is a big cause on this because of how much water we use and of how much gas we use.

Our environment is so much better because of what we have been doing this school year, but in the future I hope that other kids can do this same thing to learn about our environment and how they can help too. Our world will never be the best it can be without the people that do so much just to try to make the world as better as it can be. But the things that have shocked me the most is how we are the cause of one of the biggest situations that one day can take away our life. I still want to learn more about what we have done. I love our country and if global warming does occur than I wish I could learn more. But I really want to thank the teachers for helping us.

Katlyn-  This project has made me realize that this is a serious problem and we need to change what is happening in our world and I want to help out.  We ALL need to help out. This project has made me come to a conclusion that I need to be a better person and help change and make the world a better place. I hope that someday, nobody will have to worry about global warming or water or air pollution or any other major issue that is hurting our Earth. I would really like to thank my teachers that helped make this project possible and for making it lots of fun.
Abby-  This project had an impact on me because I learned about how people on Earth are changing the world around us. We also learned how global warming is melting our icecaps and how polar bears are dying from it. I've learned that we used to much water and people are suffering from it. We also use cars that are polluting the air and we need to make new ones. Our enviorment is more than an issue, it is a problem and we need to help out. Our world is getting polluted and everyone should help out. I hope our project will help.

November 5th Reflections - What are some of the facts on your environmental issue that are surprising you?  What can we do to let the world know how to solve this problem?
Kevin  i am sooo worried about all the sewage stuff coz it is really efecting our planet earth because its like you no recking us and we will have to move to mars if it continues.
Gavin  i am concerernd about the amount of sewage being poored into our rivers, streams and oceans. it is turning them all into sewage and is causing us to have less water. now people cant even go and swim in them places because of this sewage. we need to stop it before theres any more damage done to our earth. to do somthing about this we need to find some where else to put our sewage waste.
Morgan  As the world has industrialized and its population has grown, the problem with water pollution has intensified. The simple fact that millions of people live along the coastlines and near rivers means that these bodies of water are likely canadates for heavy and destructive population. It is hard to know what our oceans will look like in the future. We can let the world know by starting small with Kansas by not having that many people take longer showers and not wasting water and by the time this project is over I would be delighted to see if any other states have followed our example and help this cause become less meaningfull.
Katlyn  I was very surprised to find that every year 14 billion pounds of sewage, sludge, and garbage are dumped into the world's ocean. We can let the world know how to solve this problem by telling people to recycle paper, cans, newspapers and more. Take shorter showers, not wasting as much water, and not dumping sewage into the ocean.
Abby   For many years, chemicals were dumped into bodies of water without concern. While many countries have now banned this behaivior, some people still do this today.  We can let them know by sending out a warning to all the states, and helping to stop all the people that still dump sewage in the water.

Question to group members in both schools

Wedderburn Response

Andale Response

What environmental issue should your group research?   Drought  Water Pollution
Why do you think your research might help your communities? DROUGHT

Australia is the driest continent in the whole wide world. We have major water issues. It is refusing to rain and our population is growing dramatically.

Each precious drop is going to waste, and our plants and animals are dying drastically. I say do something about it. If everyone puts in it will make a huge difference to our society.

We think it will help our communites by helping the lake that we get our water from.  Another thing that will help our community is cleaning our water by picking trash out of the water.

From Mrs. Smoke - Kevin and Gavin- Thank you for posting your response today. Drought certainly is an issue we can all help to resolve.

Question to you: On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how much would you agree to research water pollution? i say about 4. we will do water pollution.

Morgan, Katlyn, Abby : Question to you: On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how much would you agree to research drought?

ok i guess we will do water pollution

Week 1 Reflections - What are two things that surprised you this week and one thing you are looking forward to learning from your partners?
Kevin the increase of co2 levals in the world looking forward to learnig about america another thing
Gavin  i havent been here for a while so i dont know but i look foward to learning about stuff
Morgan  I am very surprised that how much Americans have been the cause of most of the damage that we are doing to our environment.  I think we can help by picking up trash and using energy efficient light bulbs to help save energy.
Katlyn  That some of the world could be underwater if Greenland melts.  That the CO2 levels will be very, very high in about 50 years.  I think that our community can help if we planted more trees and made a better law on littering. I also think  Mr. Gore is overdoing it a little.
Abby  Greenland is melting! CO2 levels are rising! Polar Bears are dying!
