| Why do you think your research might help your communities? |
Any thinking person would know the melting of the glaciers is affecting the world. The ice that has been melted has gone into the sea. Now sea levels are higher causing some polar bears and other animals to drown. Because of this there is less land for them to stop and have a break. The rising of the co2 is causing global warming, and the Earth is getting hotter. This change in the weather pattern is the reason why the glaciers are melting and leading the polar bears forward to extinction. The polar bears’ and other animals’ habitats are slowly disappearing into the water. We need to help the polar bears and other animals to have a habitat that will stay there for a while instead of it melting away. A small thing can help save the animals from extinction. By Caitlin

If you think that air pollution is not a big problem in the state of Kansas, then you are full of inhumanity because it obviously is. Air pollution causes people to have cardiovascular diseases. Some causes of air pollution are people smoking, the burning of fossil fuel, forest fires, volcanoes, garbage, auto exhaust, factory smokestacks, and burning coal. We around here do a lot of those things. It is mandatory that we take action to help the environment now. Some things we can do to effectuate this problem are: drive more effecient vehicles, like hybrids. We can also stop smoking, and close down all power plant. We hope you take this problem as seriously as we do.
Hi Sarah, Kalie, Paitlyn, Caitlin and Jess,
You have chosen very different topics and both are very important issues that need to be considered. It may be tricky for you to come to an agreement so Mrs Smoke's suggestion for rating which issue you would be keen to research is really important. I'm looking forward to seeing what you think...Mrs Baird

Caitlin - Question for you: On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how interested would you be in researching air pollution?
Caitlin- I think that i would be a 3 because I dont really care if I do research air pollution or not.... lol.... From Caitlin
Caitlin and Jess here... We are ok to research CO2 levels... cya

Sarah, Kalie, and Paityn - Question for you: On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being high) how interested would you be in researching the melting of the polar ice caps?
Although we think polar bears are cool and melting ice caps are important, we rate it a 2 because we are in the middle of the United States so it doesn't effect us directly. Since CO2 levels cause both Air pollution and melting ice caps we could research that if you wanted to.
